Your role

Working together with the entities concerned based in Switzerland, Luxembourg and elsewhere in Europe (Germany, Spain, the UK and Sweden), you will:

  • Provide legal advice on regulatory or civil and commercial law issues or problems, in partnership with the commercial, tax and operational teams. This will be mainly in the areas shown below, in connection with relations between PAA and its counterparties (general partners, promoters, securities dealers and other market participants), private clients of banks, institutional clients and independent asset managers looked after by other Pictet Group entities:
    • primary, secondary and co-investments in private equity and real estate;
    • direct investments in private equity;
    • investments in private debt products or infrastructure.
  • Prepare, analyse and negotiate legal documentation with counterparties, intermediaries or clients in connection with the activities described above, mainly investment contracts, confidentiality agreements, limited partnership agreements, private placement memoranda, subscription contracts, sale & purchase agreements, transfer contracts and service contracts;
  • Contribute, from a legal and contractual perspective, to the development of the service offering, including in particular the structuring of investments;
  • Coordinate, when necessary, with the Group's other legal departments for the above-mentioned activities;
  • Provide legal support in the event of a dispute related to the above activities.

Your profile

  • Attorney’s licence;
  • Three to five years of experience, in a law firm or a financial institution with a focus on investment/asset management, ideally in private markets and specifically covering fund formation, regulatory and compliance, product management;
  • Practical knowledge of operations and financial products. Ideally previous experience with different fund types, such as ELTIFs, semi liquid products, jurisdictional funds and registrations, as well as ‘plain vanilla’;
  • Familiar with acquisition and corporate financings, structuring of private equity funds, basic corporate management of private equity funds (LPs, GPs, etc.) and/or distressed debt would be a plus;
  • Ability to work with different service providers; legal and operational;
  • Strong project management experience and attention to detail;
  • Natural communicator and enthusiastic personality;
  • Eager to learn, helpful and solutions driven;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and with teams in multiple locations;
  • Full proficiency in English and French, be comfortable to discuss complex legal matters in both languages. Understanding of German a plus;
  • The candidate must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
