You might be the right person if you:

  • Have minimum 2-10 years' relevant experience working in the banking/securities/financial services industry.
  • Posses strong risk analysis skills and judgment, legal and regulatory knowledge and transaction execution skills.
  • Have ability to analyze, draft and negotiate complex legal terms related to specific area of expertise and related regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Can draft templates, policies and procedures and training materials with respect to the above responsibilities.
  • Obtain, analyze, and put into practical use advice from external counsels pertaining to specialized counter-parties or to advise stakeholders on legal risks.
  • Like the sound of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for a quickly growing company in an expanding new services market.
  • Work well independently as well as with teams. Are the kind of person who can be relied upon to get things done.
  • Capture various pieces of information related to the contracts or matters that you support.
  • Participate or manage client projects to improve contracting efficiency, cost effectiveness, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate on task forces that strive to improve how Elevate services its clients and that enable our team to develop and grow.

Requirements:

Coordinate and align approaches and contract remediation across products

  • Proposed approach on client communication and risk disclosure.
  • Draft and review generic amendment agreement clauses.
  • Propose interim fallback language across product areas.
  • Support determining preferred transition solution, assess dependencies, and preferred transition procedure.
  • Assess impact on existing contract population.
  • Develop a strategy to deal with standard contracts and exceptions, including documentation changes and template development.
  • Support on non-standard/complex negotiations and client inquiries.

Support desk lawyers with program deliverables

  • Acting as a GC SME/contact point for front office and IBOR Program.
  • Overview on Program status and timely escalation in case of delays/issues with documentation management; ensure paper trail of implementation measures and tracking.
  • Review consistency of implementation across divisions.
  • Assist product coverage lawyers in preparing playbooks (i.e., detailed instruction manuals on provisions requiring review, specific fallback language amend and negotiation guides).
  • Instruction and coordination of external counsel.

Advising stakeholders on IBOR transition matters

  • Regulatory matters arising from IBOR transition.
  • Legal research and conclusion on relevant questions.
  • Internal awareness and education of employees.
  • Conduct Risk Impact Assessment and associated governance.
  • Preparation of materials to be submitted to the regulators.

  • Excellent writing skills, particularly depicting complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Professionalism in both verbal and written work.
  • High integrity and ethical compass.
  • Excellent listening as well as communication skills and the judgment to know which skill to use in a given setting.
  • Ability to own mistakes and learn from them.
  • Experience with Microsoft Products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Some experience in Derivatives, ISDA Agreements, Lending/Borrowing teams of a bank will be a huge plus.
  • Must be fluent in English. German and other languages a plus.
