ABOUT THE ROLE:
In a nutshell; iBasis is looking for a business savvy Legal Counsel to join a small dynamic legal team reporting to the General Counsel. In practice the focus of this role will be primarily on national and international commercial contracts, supporting the company at every stage of a commercial relationship: from drafting contracts to contract review and negotiation, as well as resolving disputes, and implementing assignments or terminatons.. Advising on contract law issues as well as assisting in litigation on (international) commercial disputes and liability issues is also part of your activities. This position will provide the opportunity to be engaged in a broad range of legal duties in an international business environment.
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, review and negotiate commercial telecommunications service agreements and other commercial agreements;
- Manage non-US regulatory license filings and related regulatory issues;
- Provide necessary legal support for product teams;
- Assist in corporate governance management of Company’s non-US entities;
- Interface with outside counsel as needed;
- Other related duties as assigned;

YOU’LL BRING:
- A Master’s degree in Law from accredited university;
- 10 years or more legal experience; preferably including some in-house legal experience. Experience with commercial contracts is required;
- Working knowledge of GDPR;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with full proficiency in English required, additional proficiency in French is a plus;
- Telecommunications or technology experience preferably in a wholesale or b2b enviroment
