As part of the Digital Advisory team, you will actively provide and coordinate legal support as part of a center of excellence for the Legal & Compliance division and be a trusted business partner to internal clients with the aim to provide holistic support and expertise for Innovation & Technology ventures.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Be a trusted partner to Info Tech working as a member of a broader cross functional team to provide timely, high quality legal advice and proactively articulate legal risks and opportunities, related to the use of new technology;
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of technology, digital and innovation agreements and legal documents, including Cloud solutions, data agreements, smart analytics, software licenses and maintenance agreements, collaboration and innovation agreements (protection of intellectual property), outsourcing, managed services agreements, etc.;
  • Assist with regulatory issues related to outsourcing, including via participation in meeting with regulators alongside other Swiss Re participants, where required;
  • Coordinating internal approval processes across Legal & Compliance and related functions such as Risk Management or Information Security;
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in the fields of technology, data and security;
  • Ensure that legal risks are promptly identified, communicated and mitigated, including by way of legal analysis and written legal reports especially in the area of protection of intellectual property and use of data;
  • Contribute to the development of internal policies, procedures and reports at various levels in the area of new business models;
  • Conduct training sessions of legal and compliance risks with a focus on innovation;
  • Engage and manage external legal counsel.

In this role, you will report to the Head Digital Advisory within the Reinsurance Legal team in the broader Legal and Compliance Division.

About You

  • You are a fully qualified lawyer with 5+ years' experience in IP and IT and you developed your expertise in a global organization or law firm;
  • You demonstrate confidence in leading and managing projects and complex assignments. You display a can-do attitude and are comfortable navigating ambiguity;
  • You have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • You are confident in your ability to drive matters independently while balancing the need to collaborate and maintain an appropriate level of communication;
  • You demonstrate accountability, resilience when facing challenges and you are fully reliable, responsive and display a high level of energy;
  • You are recognized for the pragmatic advice you provide, your sense of urgency and commercial mindset;
  • You are fluent in English. Good command of other languages (preferably German) is an advantage.
