Your field of responsibility

Join us as a Team Leader for our Wroclaw based Legal Data Protection team covering the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. You will report into the Head of Legal Data Protection & Sourcing, EMEA who is based in Zurich. Your primary role will be to efficiently manage a lawyers’ team which provides legal opinions on the data protection and client confidentiality aspects of Bank initiatives that involve processing of client and personal data. With your team you will assess these initiatives’ compliance with applicable EMEA laws (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR"), regulations and Credit Suisse policies, and provide practical recommendations to your partners to help them achieve their objectives. This may involve drafting of data processing consents, privacy statements, terms of use and the like. Your responsibilities will also include providing legal advice on strategic and ad hoc data protection projects (e.g., implementation of new data privacy laws), staying abreast of relevant regulatory development and creating and maintaining a solid internal know-how database and templates.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Degree in law; qualification as attorney-at-law would be a plus
  • Solid knowledge of data protection laws in EMEA countries, with a particular focus on GDPR
  • Minimum five years of legal work experience in a law firm or corporate environment
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent legal interpretation skills and exercise of judgment, paired with a sound approach to risk
  • Ability to articulate very clearly both orally and in writing in English
  • Passion, initiative, diligence and strong commitment to drive the success of your team and foster close collaboration with the broader team
  • High ethical and control standards
