Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent practical experience;
  • Qualified French lawyer;
  • Experience with laws related to online content and the liability of internet intermediaries;
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in digital regulatory policy and/or legal matters;
  • Familiarity with Internet technologies and the surrounding regulatory environments;
  • Ability to work on a team and exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

About the job

In this role, you will be part of group of in-house lawyers and the projects and cases you take on challenge you to think big and differently. As an integrated part of the team, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.

You will help with our outreach campaigns to help shape the future direction of content policy. You will assist with analyzing the impact of legislation, coordinate internally to prepare for implementation of policies, and assist running related regulatory investigations and lawsuits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal analysis of local content regulations, including running risk assessments and analysis of implementation procedures for upcoming legislation;
  • Work cross-functionally to support and align our advocacy campaigns and to provide legal input on policy proposals and legislative recommendations;
  • Facilitate the cooperation between the legal and the policy team and take ownership for a well structured and smooth alignment process;
  • Manage matters relating to content regulation and coordinate our working relationship with external stakeholders. Respond promptly and reliably to internal and external requests for legal advice;
  • Ensure consistency in our legal approach across the various EU policy dossiers, shape the agenda, organize meetings and events, and develop internal communication.
