How will you make an impact?

As part of the Sales and Service Operations team the Contracts Specialist III provides superior customer experience by assuring on time tender processing in close alignment with account management, field service teams within the Materials and Structural Analysis team (MSD).

To be successful as Contracts Specialist III you will need a combination of outstanding communication, excellent knowledge of complex Thermo Fisher Scientific, MSD policies and procedures.

What will you do?

As member of the tender team you are responsible for managing and supporting the Contract Administration Processes in EMEA’s Material and Structural Analysis Division. This includes business processes in CRM (Dynamic 365) & Contract Administration systems.

The Contracts Specialist III understands Tender & Bid management, is customer focused and can build and understand connections with stakeholders. This position has a strong focus on driving optimization in the processes, understands the business and the legislation in the countries the tender team supports.

The new colleague will support bid and tender tasks pertaining to both administrative and operational activities, and will handle the entire life-cycle of contract management:

  • Legal advice on operations and administration advising on interpretation/drafting of legal instruments;
  • Proposals in line with standard best practices;
  • Contract drafting and management;
  • Following up on contract/agreement interpretation, implementation, performance and enforcement;
  • Support in building and maintaining of an up-to date tender, contractual database;
  • Provide support for the implementation of any other task falling in the sub fields of responsibility of the Tender Department;
  • Good knowledge of the EU institutional and regulatory framework;
  • Ability to deliver accurate work under pressure, organise workload and prioritise tasks;
  • Sense of accountability and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Support evolving business requirements;
  • Drive project execution making use of Practical Process Improvements (PPI) methodology;
  • Work independently;
  • Drive collaboration and work well in team environments;
  • Work in a dynamic environment with short deadlines;
  • Willing to support Account Management pro-active to increase revenue.

Specific deliverables associated with this opportunity include:

  • Partner with various stakeholders to collaborate on process improvements;
  • Expert in Contract Administration processes and feels comfortable to step into the Subject Matter Expert role;
  • Experienced in bid & tender management;
  • Making use of legal knowledge by supporting business necessities.

How will you get there?

  • Master’s degree International Business Law;
  • Intense knowledge of Compliance regulations;
  • Fluent in English and at least one more language (German, French, Italian);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • At least 3-5 years related work experience that show the skills needed for this role;
  • Solid experience work with ERP & CRM applications is preferred;
  • PPI Business Systems, Six Sigma, Lean or similar equivalent experience;
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
