About the Role:

Legal Counsel, under the guidance and direction of the EMEA Head of Legal, will support the commercial and compliance needs of the business, having primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with customers, including outbound licenses, SaaS and cloud-based offerings and other service offerings. You will also assist in drafting and negotiating agreements with other business partners and will help support other compliance and corporate initiatives.

The candidate must have excellent business judgment and strategic thinking and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment. Sitecore’s business spans the globe and requires an experienced, dynamic and team-oriented attorney. This position will report to the EMEA Head of Legal.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for the EMEA sales region – primarily software licensing and SaaS/cloud contracts – including facilitating internal approvals and escalations, identifying significant risks, and ultimately determining what non-standard contract terms are included in our contracts
  • Negotiating DPAs and related agreements with support from Sitecore’s Data Privacy & Security team
  • Act as a primary interface between Legal and the Sales organization, including providing strategic guidance and direction and ensuring compliance with contracting processes
  • Manage contract templates, guidelines and libraries
  • Managing internal training related to Legal Department’s policies and processes
  • Partner with the Global Revenue Operations team and Finance organization in supporting EMEA Sales initiatives and objectives
  • Support other general corporate matters and special projects from time to time.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A sense of humor
  • At least 4+ years of relevant post-qualification law firm and/or in-house experience, with extensive experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and legal aspects of English-language contracts
  • Law degree and license to practice law
  • Extensive experience with SaaS/cloud contracts, IPR and software contracts
  • Experience and/or expertise in Privacy and Data Protection, specifically the negotiation of DPAs and related agreements
  • A customer-focused approach to negotiation and drafting of contracts, including the ability to translate business needs to pragmatic solutions and concise and clear legal language
  • Ability to interact comfortably with senior management
  • Solid business acumen and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure are required
  • A strong command of details, but with a broad strategic awareness
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Right to work in the EU
  • You live in either Copenhagen, Paris or Dublin

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart: 

  • Additional language skills beyond English
  • A strong background working with and providing legal support to a Sales team
  • A basic understand of software development and a willingness and curiosity to learn Sitecore’s product and services offerings
  • Experience working with stakeholders in multiple geographies in EMEA
