About the role

As Head of Employment and Litigation for our Legal group, you will be guiding a team and focusing on diverse legal cases arising within the Bitpanda Group. You will provide legal guidance for various European and international projects and you will be responsible for all ongoing projects regarding employment and litigation of the Bitpanda Group.

What you’ll do

  • Leading a legal team, pushing high-priority projects and monitoring deadlines and results for all ongoing projects as well as preparing reports accordingly;
  • Provide ongoing legal advice on all legal aspects over the course of European and international employment law projects and litigation cases and the improvement of the general legal setup;
  • Provide ongoing legal advice to the HR department in employment law matters (Austrian and other jurisdictions), both strategically, like setting up new HR processes, as well as advice on operational legal matters including special agreements, terminations, HR dispute resolution and litigation;
  • Legal guidance and support of Bitpanda's office expansion projects with the Expansions Team (new hiring setups, local employment contracts, payroll etc.);
  • Prepare reports for the management and align with all relevant teams within the Bitpanda Group;
  • Give advice on and structure international mobility of employees within the Bitpanda Group;
  • Draft and revise all types of legal documents like any type of contract in connection with employment relations, human resources or workplace related contracts, revise new HR policies, etc.;
  • Evaluate the company’s legal status and maintain good compliance as well as develop, implement and monitor legal processes;
  • Liaise and cooperate with external counsels, cooperation partners and clients in various countries.

Who you are

  • A university degree in law from a International university with a strong focus on civil law, employment law, litigation and/or corporate law and/or arbitration;
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in an international law firm or experience as in-house legal counsel in an international company (completed bar exam is an advantage);
  • Excellent knowledge of international arbitration rules, corporate structures, employment law setups, corporate reorganizations, financial markets, tax structures as well as a strong interest in and common understanding of financial institutions and online platform business;
  • Expertise in the field of employment law and international mobility;
  • Excellent leadership skill, team player, Solution-oriented and precise way of working, as well as the ability to work both independently as well as in a team;
  • Diplomatic and effective communicator with the ability to communicate and break down complex legal issues to the management and non-lawyers in a clear and concise manner;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and reporting skills, with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Fluency in English is required and basic German is advantageous.
