Role & Function

As the responsible Legal Counsel you will provide legal advice for dedicated commercial operations in selected countries in particular in the Europe region. You will also manage external stakeholders and legal providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • manage day to day and complex legal matters in selected countries both as a lead counsel and through coordination with other legal colleagues in Legal Affairs;
  • draft, negotiate, advise on and review a wide variety of agreements, including commercial agreements, agreements with payors and sick-funds and health care compliance related agreements with external stakeholders;
  • assess and implement data privacy requirements according to GDPR and local laws;
  • advise on digital healthcare tools for patients, physicians and caregivers from the development to marketing, considering all legal and privacy aspects;
  • use, work with and implement systems and processes to ensure that Sobi achieves its business objectives in a transparent and ethical manner;
  • work interdisciplinary with other teams (e.g. Medical, Marketing, Patient Access) and support them with your legal expertise in a precise and comprehensible manner;
  • at a national level, work closely with the leadership teams in the countries and all business and support functions to ensure high value legal advice;
  • manage outside counsel work and legal proceedings and law suits;
  • ensure that global Healthcare Compliance standards of the highest quality are promoted and maintained throughout;
  • The position can require regular traveling, in particular within the Europe region.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in law (European or equivalent);
  • Experienced as a lawyer (ideally in a multinational company and/or an international law firm) you will have at least 5 years broad legal commercial experience, allowing for local cultures and practices to be taken into account;
  • Previous experience of working in or for the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and an understanding of pharmaceutical and other regulations, sales, marketing and medical practices and of international regulations;
  • Experience with the pharmaceutical industry codes of conduct;
  • Experience with commercial Laws and jurisdictions;
  • Experience with data privacy laws (GDPR and local privacy laws);
  • Fluent written and spoken English and preferably other languages.
