Your impact as Chief Global Antitrust Counsel

Reporting to the Global Head of Legal Corporate, this position will be directly responsible for leading the global competition/antitrust program for Sanofi’s global businesses, with annual revenues of €38 billion. Therefore, it requires a strong background in antitrust/competition law and a deep willingness to work across a global organization and interact with senior leaders and legal colleagues in more than 100 countries around the world.

Job responsibilities

  • Evaluate, assess and redefine the company’s legal position for competition matters throughout the world;
  • Work with a cross-functional team to implement long-term strategies, evaluate and assess products, services and technologies to ensure continued compliance with competition laws and regulations and monitor and advise on changes in relation to competition laws that impact the company’s businesses, excluding merger control analysis;
  • Design and implement competition law policies and training, as well as regularly review and ensure that policies and procedures are tailored to appropriately address business needs and risks;
  • Develop strategies and techniques to identify and mitigate potential legal, regulatory or compliance risk;
  • Perform competition law compliance risk assessments and deploy systematic methodology for measuring program effectiveness;
  • Oversee and manage potential investigations and inquiries related to competition law/antitrust matters;
  • Advise on responses to regulatory inquiries on competition law issues, in coordination with local lawyers and other business stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Manage outside counsel and third-party consulting firms on competition law matters as needed;
  • Interface with regulators and other stakeholders, including on advocacy matters.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • 15+ years of experience in competition/antitrust law at a major law firm with a substantial antitrust practice and/or in-house global role at an international company;
  • Experience preparing and conducting antitrust compliance training programs;
  • Business oriented, strategic thinker, performance driven, externally focused;
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills to deliver results while managing risk to the enterprise;
  • Proactive and able to function in both transversal and matrix organizations;
  • Ability to manage priorities, strong project management and execution skills;
  • Languages: English fluent/French proficiency.
