Role background
We’re now looking for a versatile and experienced employment law professional to own our day-to-day employment legal matters across countries, different business functions and multiple employee groups (excluding our courier partner model). We are hoping you to drive the development of our employment practices and the role of our in-house employment support to the next level.
We’re looking for someone who has the ability to tackle complex employment legal issues across different countries, expansion and business functions. A person who is able to maneuver multiple cases and stakeholders simultaneously, understand core business needs and support our people with the Wolt way of doing things will excel in this role. In this position you get to influence how to improve processes and scale our way of working. At the end of the day we are looking for a problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and solution-driven ways of working. Our ideal team member has an ability to be close to our business, is dynamic and proactively gets things done. What you’ll be doing
- Being a trusted advisor in all employment legal topics to our People Team, country teams and operational teams across Wolt’s business operations;
- Providing employment legal advice on a broad range of employment related matters from day-to-day issues to wider matters such as diversity, health and safety, employee relations, collective bargaining and HR privacy/data protection;
- Providing legal support relating to expansion into new countries and business verticals and transactions, authority/third-party investigations and employment related litigations;
- Drafting and advising on employment related documents, including templates, guidelines and global policies;
- Ensuring compliance with local laws and collective agreements, and managing risk in your area of expertise;
- Participate in company level employee relations agenda, and proactively develop HR legal processes and guidelines. This includes advising on statutory co-operation and being the first point of contact for compliance issues around employee relations;
- Owning our whistleblowing channel from an employment legal point of view including HR privacy;
- Leading employment law related compliance projects and partnering closely with our People Team across our markets to advise on compliance and best practices in employment law.
Our humble expectations
- Extensive legal experience from working as an in-house counsel and/or at a reputable law firm in an international setting. Experience in managing different jurisdictions is a must;
- Master of Laws degree from a reputable university in the EU or UK;
- Proven track record in advising global stakeholders in complex and significant employment matters;
- Ability to take ownership and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus on the right priorities;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. We are looking for a collaborative team player with a customer focused approach;
- Passion for detail and an ability to solve real life problems both on strategic and practical level;
- Excellent English skills. Any other language skill, including Finnish, is considered an advantage.
