About the Role:
As Senior Legal Counsel Competition Law your main task will be advising the RWE Group's Offshore Wind business unit on antitrust and investment control law, in particular with the following activities listed below. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about driving forward inhouse legal support. Your Future Plans:
- Provide legal advice on EU and/or relevant national antitrust law in Europe, the USA and the APAC region, with the support of external law firms where necessary;
- Conduct and supervise antitrust and merger control proceedings including their worldwide coordination;
- Provide legal advice in the area of investment control law and the conduct and coordination of corresponding proceedings;
- Provide legal advice in the area of European and national state aid law including the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation;
- Support group-wide antitrust compliance activities (training);
- Identify new developments in antitrust, investment control and state aid law and developing recommendations for action.
Your Profile:
You have the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:
- Qualified lawyer with strong legal skills proven in practice;
- Relevant previous experience in consulting, legal department of a large company or an international law firm;
- Knowledge and experience in the field of EU antitrust law (including merger control) and state aid law;
- Experience in various national antitrust laws (including merger control) and investment control laws;
- Ability to familiarize oneself quickly and competently with new issues;
- Intercultural competence and positive team playing skills with openness to constructive feedback;
- Ability to take an entrepreneurial perspective and provide proactive as well as solution-oriented advice to the operational business;
- Fluent in written and spoken English, additional language skills would be helpful.
