We are currently seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel to join our esteemed Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) Legal and Compliance (L&C) Department. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team (Europe (Sweden and France), North America (USA) and Asia (China)) and play a crucial role in our company's transformation journey. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and SVP Legal & Compliance within GTP. The work will require occasional traveling.

Who want to handle both compliance program implementation in the field of Purchasing and commercial contracts of our exciting transformation journey
Who are known for being a dynamic lawyer with project management skills
Who have a Master of Law within business law, contracts or international law and a minimum of five years solid legal experience from a law firm, in-house legal counsel or equivalent with at least 3 years of ethics and compliance experience. You will
Who have strong personal credibility and integrity, a true business interest acumen and a can-do mind-set, with high drive and energy and a readiness to perform multiple duties effectively in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment

What would be your Role with us?

Anticipate and identify legal or compliance issues
Provide proactive and business-oriented legal and compliance advice to the daily business operations of GTP which will cover Automotive and Indirect Procurement (services…)
Draft, review a variety of documentation including many different types of contracts as purchase agreements, licenses, lease, collaboration agreements and any other legal documents Draft and negotiate …
Review, research, interpret, and prepares both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal or compliance issues
Assist the compliance teams with any initiative with purposes to:
- Conceive, detail, operationalize or improving
- Efficiently implement and
- Monitor the effectiveness of Volvo Group’s compliance programs (anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, sanctions and export controls, anti-trust…) within GTP
Assist with compliance related projects including investigation, audits and case management
Provide legal support with respect to disputes and threats involving suppliers or other external entities that impact GTP
Dispute resolution management in different forums including mediation, arbitration, and litigation. This includes management of external counsel and approval of invoices
Provide support with respect to subjects that relate to the day-to-day GTP business areas, sometimes taking a lead role and other times acting more as a liaison between our business stakeholders and other subject matter experts, both inside and outside of the legal function. Subjects might include, by way of example only, intellectual property matters, supplier distress, insolvency and reorganization matters, customs, export control
Prepare and conduct internal training on legal and compliance topics, with such offerings to be available to relevant internal business stakeholders
Prepare and update template agreements, internal instructions, legal guidelines, memos…
Promote compliance with laws and regulations and internal legal processes
Cooperate with legal counsel colleagues around the world on legal matters and projects
And assist with GTP Legal and Compliance department’s projects, as instructed
