The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated EU/UK qualified lawyer who can support our growing Trust and Safety organisation, handle complex legal issues and support the implementation of novel and high profile laws in the EMEA region. This role is based in Dublin and will play a central role in the EMEA legal team. We will also consider Brussels and Paris as alternative locations.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on laws and regulations relating to content and safety, including the Digital Services Act in the EU and the Online Safety Bill in the UK, with a focus on the implementation and ongoing compliance with those laws;
  • Supporting our Trust and Safety organisation, advising on content moderation issues, content policies, and user safety related legal matters across the EMEA region;
  • Assisting with regulatory engagement in conjunction with the Government Relations team;
  • Closely collaborating and coordinating with the Litigation team and product, public policy and communications teams on regulatory and policy strategies, external communication, and investigations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in a regulatory and/or product legal compliance role from a well regarded private practice team or established in-house department;
  • Background in consumer-facing tech and/or digital media, or a solid understanding of these industries from private practice;
  • An understanding of laws relating to user generated content, in particular the Digital Services Act in the EU and the Online Safety Bill in the UK;
  • Ability to work on a large number and variety of high profile and strategic projects and navigate ambiguous legal and regulatory environments;
  • Ability to work as a team player who can effectively work with, manage and coordinate colleagues, internal stakeholders and the business;
  • Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficient in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organisation.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience advising on or analysing the following laws preferred but not obligatory - Digital Services Act in the EU and the Online Safety Bill in the UK.
