The Team:

Our Global Legal team provides key support for all of TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for employment matters and employment disputes involving TikTok.

Due to continuing growth, we are looking for an employment lawyer to join our existing team of employment lawyers supporting the EMEA region. You should be a motivated, self-starter who can build strong relationships with our HR/ER teams and various other stakeholders. The successful candidate will form an integral part of the in-house legal team. The role is based in Dublin.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in relation to a broad range of employment issues in Ireland and across EMEA, including advising in relation to collective and individual employment rights.
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and strategic support to Human Resources & other stakeholders.
  • Draft and revise employment related agreements and policies, including employment contracts, severance agreements, company policies, and other employment related documents.
  • Support and strategic advice on any employment litigation matters and pre-litigation employment disputes.
  • Support in relation to HR data privacy matters, such as responding to data subject access/deletion requests.
  • Advice on topics such as recruiting and hiring; performance management; discipline and terminations; employment. status; leaves of absence; compensation and benefits; discrimination; harassment; corporate transactions and employee investigations.
  • Advice on, and coordinating responses to, region-specific legal requirements.
  • Effective partnering and relationship building with Human Resources, Employee Relations, the wider legal team and various other departments and stakeholders, and demonstrating an understanding of the business.
  • Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and other employment law developments and advise stakeholders on legal changes and developments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ireland qualified employment lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified lawyer of advising on employment-related legal issues including individual and collective employment rights, employment aspects of corporate transactions, investigations, exits and litigation.
  • Strong working knowledge of overlapping disciplines, including in particular data privacy, as well as compensation & benefits, pensions, immigration and health & safety.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a varied workload and prioritise as needed.
  • A team player who is adaptable and willing to pitch in to support colleagues and the growth of the business.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues for the business in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of advising on cross-border employment law matters with an EMEA focus.
  • Exposure to working in a fast-paced in-house legal environment is a plus.
