Senior Practice Development Lawyer, Regulatory and Investigations

Senior Practice Development Lawyer, Regulatory and Investigations

Dentons Europe

Remote, United Kingdom

Role Purpose

You will cover a wide range of regulatory work including contentious and non-contentious financial regulation, fraud and white-collar crime, and international trade including export controls, sanctions, and national security regulatory matters. You should have prior expertise in some, but not necessarily all of these areas.

This role would ideally suit an existing PDL or a mid-senior regulatory lawyer looking to transition into a demanding PDL role. In addition to a strong grounding in some of the above areas, candidates would ideally also have expertise in investigations.

The Role

  • Current awareness and horizon scanning: With others, you will help share information and develop marketing materials – both internally and with clients - about key legal, regulatory, and procedural developments affecting clients of the Regulatory & Investigations practice.
  • Precedents and knowledge management tools: You will work with the team to review and maintain a suite of standard form precedent documentation, playbooks, and guidance as well as knowledge management tools (eg records of relevant recent decisions on topical areas).
  • Training: You will contribute to internal (including trainees and qualified lawyers) and client training programs by organising, writing, and/or delivering training sessions.
  • Legal service delivery and innovation: You will contribute to the team's drive to streamline our processes while ensuring we continue to deliver the best quality advice to our clients. This may involve participating in or organising trials of technological products, using and championing cost budgeting tools, using legal project management tools, and using document automation tools to speed up document production. You may be involved in trialing new technologies.
  • Client support: As an integral part of our R&I team, you can expect to provide regular advice or act as a sounding board for queries, ranging from basic questions from trainees to research tasks from partners and other experienced lawyers.

  • Qualified in either England and Wales, or Scotland, or ideally both.

  • Self-starter who is able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude to their work.
