Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial agreements and provide practical, timely counsel, including drafting and negotiating, in support of the Procurement team, Sales and Marketing teams, Construction, Real Estate and Retail development teams and occasionally also other teams in Europe as well as occasionally Lucid Global. There will be a specific focus on the German market in the short and mid-term, but the position has a broader European scope;
  • Support and collaborate with the the afore mentioned teams in Europe (in North America, EU, or Middle East) to negotiate and draft partnership agreements and drafting terms and conditions of campaigns;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and key legislative changes;
  • Proactively identify and support process improvements within the legal team to help optimize and drive excellent and efficient legal support;
  • Provide legal support to work streams and processes relating to the rollout and maintenance of corporate policies, trainings, and compliance programs;
  • Engage and manage outside counsel as necessary;
  • Other legal work as assigned, to ensure continued legal support form the EU legal team to the business stakeholders in the region.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from a nationally recognized law school;
  • Qualified to practice law and in good standing in one of the EU countries;
  • 7-10 years of legal experience, minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial legal roles either in a law firm or multinational corporation;
  • Strong analytical skills and oral and written communication skills;
  • Fluency in English and German;
  • Ability to communicate complex legal analysis and requirements to all layers in the business;
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under tight deadlines;
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and develop strong working relationships while maintaining adherence to legal standards;
  • Sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and decision-making;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business and legal environment;
  • Flexibility and interest in working on an array of legal matters in order to understand and advise the company on legal implications of its business strategy;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the automotive industry as well as industry trends and new laws that will impact the company in Europe.
