This Knowledge Lawyer position reports into the Regional Head of Knowledge and the Head of Corporate for Germany. As the Corporate team is located in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg, the successful applicant could be located in any of these offices.
Advising lawyers and discussing the legal issues which they face in their transactions and matters (including structuring advice), providing assistance to lawyers in their research;
Drafting templates and practice notes for corporate transactional matters and maintaining these templates and practice notes;
Providing knowledge support to business development initiatives, including supporting the key industry sectors and client programme initiatives of Norton Rose Fulbright;
Preparing and delivering legal training to the Corporate team across our three German offices;
Drafting material for external or internal publications and identifying topics of interest and likely candidates for articles;
Implementing the know-how strategy of the firm by promoting the use of internal databases and search engines and by devising and implementing systems for know-how collection (research notes, transactional documents, training material etc.).
Skills and Experience Required
Qualified lawyer with significant legal experience in the Corporate department of a leading International law firm;
Experience in drafting in plain language (German, English);
Experience in designing and delivering successful, interesting and innovative training programmes, targeted to the audience;
Ability to work with a variety of personalities across all levels of the organisation;
Experience in or interest in the collation, storage and delivery of knowledge;
Project management experience and demonstrated creativity in problem solving;
Excellent oral and written communication skills (German, English);
Excellent legal research skills.
Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility adapting to changing priorities;
Strong client focus and demonstrated commitment to outstanding service delivery;
Strong IT skills and familiarity with document management software;
