About the Role

We are offering an unusual job in insurance. It requires legal skills and insurance experience. Your job environment will be international.

Are you passionate about:

  • Applying your legal skills to develop and improve insurance product offerings;
  • Supporting large insurance transactions with legal advice on wordings;
  • Working with the full range of commercial insurance lines of business;
  • Operating autonomously and at the same time collaborating closely with colleagues in various functions across EMEA.

You will focus on reviewing and drafting insurance contract wordings and related documents mainly for France, with plenty of opportunities to work with other EMEA markets, too. Your language skills will be essential for your job performance.

Researching insurance contract law questions as well as local and European regulation, assisting in developing and communicating company positions on contract wording issues and training internal clients will be important parts of your role. In addition, you will participate in reviews of business divisions to ensure compliance with internal Contracts processes and rules as well as with applicable law. And projects are also waiting for your input!

About You

  • You have a law degree or equivalent, preferably from France, and like researching and applying laws and regulations;
  • You are a French native speaker and proficient in both written and spoken English, including legal and business terminology. It is a plus if you are fluent in other European languages;
  • You have senior level experience in insurance, in an Underwriting, Broking, Claims, Compliance or Legal/Contracts role and a sound knowledge of insurance products;
  • You are a self-starter who can work autonomously in a virtual team but who is happy to learn on the job and coordinate with team colleagues;
  • You can efficiently prioritize competing tasks;
  • You possess strong writing and analytical problem solving skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with internal clients who are not familiar with legal matters;
  • You are able to digest large amounts of information quickly and to filter out relevant details;
  • You feel comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment;
  • You are creative and curious to help develop the role of the contracts lawyer in the digital era.
