We are looking for an experienced lawyer with international IP law expertise to join the IP team. This lawyer will be a key member of the IP legal team, serving as a business-oriented legal advisor and providing strategic and first-class legal support with respect to design domain name, patent, trademark, trade secret and other IP related matters.
It is an exciting opportunity at Polestar for an IP counsel who can work within a fast-paced and challenging scale-up organization. You will play an important role in the Polestar team supporting the company in its growth and expansion.
This position is located at our HQ, in Gothenburg.
What you'll do
Key responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to provide IP legal support to the business, in cooperation with other Polestar Group functions, including Marketing, Product Management, R&D and Design;
- Assist and support the other functions within legal on IP legal questions;
- Participate and develop regular trademark review meetings with Marketing and PR;
- Work with relevant stakeholders to develop and ensure compliance with trademark and other IP strategies and processes;
- Provide trademark clearance, filing and prosecution counselling;
- Responsibility for the trademark portfolio;
- Drafting and reviewing IP agreements, including license, collaboration, development and research agreements;
- Proactively support the business and legal in relation to IP contentious matters and litigations;
- Managing and instructing external IP lawyers and other IP service providers;
- Spread awareness and knowledge about IP within the Polestar Group.
Who you are
You have 5-7 years’ post qualification experience and have worked inhouse or in a leading international law firm, with a deep IP law practice, alternatively a leading international IP firm. You are a subject matter expert in international IP law, combining legal experience with commercial instincts and the interpersonal skills required to function successfully in a commercial, and legally challenging position.
