Legal Counsel - Product & Consumer Affairs

You’ll become a part of the Product & Consumer Affairs Legal team, which is focused on providing legal support to our business teams and the consumer rights and other legal & regulatory topics. You will report to your Team Lead and frequently work together with product managers, designers as well as colleagues from other legal teams.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Analyze and respond to requests from Vinted’s product teams, design teams and other stakeholders;
  • Ensure consumer law compliance within Vinted’s operations across various jurisdictions by being the voice of the consumer rights compliance under the EU and international laws;
  • Collaborate with external advisers on legal risk clearances with an aim to provide a compliant, but business oriented approach;
  • Manage consumer rights compliance audits / reviews, develop and maintain audit checklists to be used to audit/review product and operations in relation to regulatory compliance;
  • Act as the legal point of contact for different business domains on designated projects across various topics;
  • Contribute to an ever-improving structure of communication and collaboration between the product and legal domains by ensuring compliance, efficiency and preserving Vinted values;
  • Undertake special projects and support other product legal team initiatives, organizational and legal-defense tasks.

About you:

  • A lawyer with minimum 5 years experience in a law firm or as an in-house counsel, preferably in the tech/e-commerce platforms;
  • Experienced in product legal compliance and consumer rights protection within different jurisdictions and across the EU;
  • Skilled in providing legal guidance across a wide variety of legal issues in various jurisdictions to business stakeholders;
  • Experienced delivering practical advice and operating within ambiguity and prioritizing work while working with multiple teams;
  • Good at legal risk assessment, including considering business strategy and keeping your eye on the bigger picture while at the same time detail-oriented;
  • Expertise in legal product clearance (being able to identify product non-compliance risks and mitigate them);
  • Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English;
  • A team-player who’s happy working in a multicultural environment with plenty of cross-departmental collaboration;
  • Passionate about tech-driven businesses;
  • Note: Membership at a local bar association is not required.
